So what is Enrout? Enrout is a new search engine for alternative lodging. The founders are Joe and Margaret Wong, a couple now residing in San Francisco with their son.

Their search engine covers a large range of apartments and hotels, including Asia. You'll find hotels and apartments for Bangkok, Kuala Lumpur, Singapore, Mumbai, Delhi, Panaji in Goa, Shanghai and so much more.

After looking at their various options, I wouldn't mind staying at one of these hotels or apartments myself ;-)

The prices aren't bad either - some of them start at less than $20 (for instance, Bangkok) and the lowest I saw for Kuala Lumpur was $23.

Their search engine is very easy to use; there are categories according to hotel rating, price, location, amenities and brands.
