Ready for the Full Moon Party?
The full Moon Party on Haad Rin Beach is huge with thousands of people (up to 30,000 party people). If I say it's a popular event on Koh Pha Ngan, it would be a huge understatement.
The party atmosphere is definitely there!
The DJs play different music: techno, pop, reggae, trance, drum and bass.
The music satisfies everybody and you can dance to different music from deck to deck.
And on top of that, there are fire shows going on!
Hungry? If you get hungry, buy food from food vendors at the beach.
Want a nap from all the dancing?
If you get tired, they even have a nap area! But be careful with your belongings. My friend forgot to apply sunscreen before she dozed off in the nap area, and when she woke up the next day she was sunburned :-(
But I'll be honest with you...
Some will find the Full Moon Parties as too crowded, and we only saw trash and bottles floating near the shoreline, so it wasn't cool to dance in the water.
And we met some girls who stepped on pieces of glasses on the beach - they had to end their night early!
Not to mention, the full moon party was so big that I lost my friends a couple of times.
The only bad thing I have on the music, is how they set up the decks.
Even if we were at the Reggae deck, we could easily hear the music from the House deck close by. The different music was coming from every corner and it was just annoying. I thought I was going to get a heart attack.
Where: Had Rin beach
Time: Starts at around 9.00 pm until the afternoon the next day.
Entrance fee: 100 B
Price for bucket: 200-350 B
A piece of advice for the Full Moon parties - book accommodation in advance if you're picky about accommodation.
I'm telling you this right now - the best accommodations fill up quickly before the parties begin! They're THE events of the year!!!
