Need Advice on Budget Guide Books for Myanmar, Northern India or Nepal

Hi,
I am a hardcore backpacker (65 countries over 15 years). I had always used Lonely Planet guidebooks, but years ago I became fed up with them because they are no longer a "budget" or "backpacker" guidebook, but just very general.

I need a book that tells me the cheapest ways to get around and places to stay. I've heard Bradt is good, but they don't have guides for Myanmar, Northern India or Nepal, the places of my next trip. Also, I have switched to Kindle so I am no longer carrying around heavy books.

Can you recommend a budget guide book that covers these countries and is available in ebook format?

Thanks so much for your help.

Budget guide books

I've been researching and found this for Nepal

Nepal on a budget

It's not Lonely Planet, Rough Guides or any of the 'big guys', but it seems like a good book based on the description they give on the sales page (haven't read it). Its subtitle is: "Your guidebook to traveling affordably in Nepal."

I didn't find any for North India and Myanmar that fits your description. The tourism is starting to grow significantly in Myanmar. I guess there hasn't been enough demand to write about budget backpacking in Myanmar just yet.

Cheers,
Amanda
