This is what brought me to China in the first place -- July 2011 Asia Online Photo Contest

Black Dragon Lake in Lijiang, Yunnan China
Somewhere in the early 1980's I saw this particular photo in a book. It took me about 15 years to come to the point of going to China. In 1996 I came to Lijiang and visited this particular place, the Black Dragon Lake with a view towards the back Jade Dragon Snow Mountain (Mt. Yulong). Even now, more than 20 years later, I still feel touched by this view.
I've been several times to Lijiang (Yunnan) but the view from this point was never like the first time. I might visit Lijiang later this year on the bicycle (I will be in late October/November anyway there), and if so I will want to see this place again, just to find out if the magic is still there.
This special photo is in the July-August Photo Contest.
It also entered in the 2011 Photo of the year -- Backpacking Tips Asia Online Photo Contest.
