How does it work?

Use the form below and submit one photo.

Please add some information, like:

  • The type of camera you used

  • Date and place of the picture taken

  • Any other details you want to provide (the story behind the photo etc)

Maximum image size is 800x600 to save time and space. Please resize any photo larger than 800x600 using a graphics software, like Photofilter, Picasa, Photoscape or other.

The image file must be in jpg. or gif.

If you're concerned about photo theft, you can use watermark.

What's in it for the winner?

The winner gets his/her photo on the home page and the right column on all pages of the site with credits to you, the photographer. I will also link to your site or blog from our home page (if you have one). All this for one whole month!

As of know, Backpacking Tips Asia.com has a PR 3.

In January 2012, over 117.000 pages were visited and it received over 37.000 unique visitors.

Your picture will be exposed in 500 articles throughout Backpacking Tips Asia.com.

Your picture will be exposed in our newsletter that month.

Each month the amount of visitors and pages increase. This is a great opportunity for you to boost and expose your work or hobby :-) You'll also impress family, friends and colleagues.

How does the judging work?

The photos are judged by other visitors to your page. There are three social buttons, through Facebook ('Like'), Pininterest ('Pin it') and Stumble upon.

The visitor of your page will have the opportunity to click the social buttons.

To vote, click on one, two or all three social buttons.

Example: Facebook 18 likes + Pininterest 6 re-pins + Stumbleupon 20 = 44 votes

You, the photographer, should only vote once for his/her own photo to get the snowball rolling ;-)

The submission with most clicks at the end of a month, is the winner.

The photo contest started on July 01, 2011. There must be at least 3 new submissions each month before the contest can start.

The last photo of the month winner is Allan Militante from the Philippines.

The Photo of the Year winner (2011-2012) is Peter van der Lans from Sitiawan, Malaysia.

Backpacking Tips Asia Photo Contest

  • Write a description of where the photo is taken, and why this is your favorite picture. Please don't copy any facts or information from other websites, including Wikipedia. Write in your own words ;-)

    The more you tell, it's more likely to get more votes ;-)

  • You can ONLY submit one photo (maximum 6 photos each year)

    Note: Photos must be taken by you. You must have the right to use the photo. Backpacking Tips Asia.com is not responsible for photos submitted by viewers.

    If the submission doesn't fulfill the requirements above, I reserve the right to delete the submission.
